Kili Conquerors for Parkinson's
![]() Congratulations! Our Kili Conquerors have returned victorious from their trip! After years of repeatedly and loudly proclaiming “ I am going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro,” much like my repeated chant of “I am going to lose 20 pounds,” I committed to the mountain by paying $1000 up front to the Tusker Trails Trekking Company. No mean feat for a lifelong procrastinator. Three weeks later after sending out an e-mail blast to friends, a climbing team of 5 determined souls was formed. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is usually done for altruistic reasons and since close friends and I have been affected by Parkinson's Disease, our team agreed to support the efforts of our regional partners of the Parkinson Society Canada. The evolution of the team name: The Kili Conquerors For Parkinson's was a natural name progression. The fact that Erica Curtis, one of our team-mates, is a person with Parkinson's has made our drive all the more compelling.
As of April 26, 2011 the combined total for the campaign is $40,228; including $9,000 raised at "Party for Parkinson's". Please indicate the courageous climber who sent you this invitation: |
